       PRP: Platelet Rich Plasma Injections

Plasma Injections

PRP is an injection product made from platelet-rich plasma to stimulate stem cells in the dermis that make collagen and elastin. It helps to rejuvenate and beautify the skin of the face, neck, décolleté, and hands or to treat certain skin imperfections.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma?

Blood plasma containing platelets and growth factors that promote the activation of the skin's natural regeneration mechanisms.

It is prepared from the patient's own blood. It is therefore an autologous product, 100% biocompatible and without any risk of rejection or allergy.

Plasma is a serum that contains nutrients, vitamins, hormones, minerals, and proteins, which are essential for cell survival.

Platelets are coreless cells with mitochondria, microtubules, and alpha granules. A wafer contains between fifty and eighty alpha granules and synthesizes about thirty bioactive proteins which are growth factors. There are a dozen different growth factors that stimulate stem cells in the area where PRP is injected.

Platelet-rich plasma has been known for over twenty years to treat osteoarthritis, tendonitis, or ligament rupture. Its virtues are now used more and more in anti-aging medicine.

Indications: Reboost stem cells

PRP renews skin by working deep in the dermis.

It is also increasingly popular in France among reality TV stars, notably Manon Marsault and Jessica Thevenin.

The conduct of the PRP session

A nurse takes blood from the arm. You don't have to be fasting.

The blood collected is then centrifuged. This process separates the plasma and platelets from red blood cells and white blood cells. The growth factors and proteins in PRP “boost” the stem cells in the skin that produce collagen and elastin.

The doctor then injects small amounts of PRP into the dermis using a fine needle on the treated area.

Depending on the indication to be treated, a complete PRP treatment consists of three to six sessions. Each session is spaced four to six weeks apart.

The aftermath of injections

Erythema, edema, itching or temporary tenderness of the skin, and possible bruising for a few days. The resumption of activities is instantaneous.

The results

Immediately after the session, there is already a marked improvement in the radiance and tone of the skin. After a month, the skin becomes softer, less wrinkled and wrinkled on the surface, and skin imperfections diminish.

The treatment should be renewed every six months.
