permanent lip makeup

The permanent make-up of the lips by derma pigmentation is the guarantee of having a redesigned mouth and makeup for a few years. Muriel Bertozzi, the beautician, tells us all about this technique.

la derma pigmentation, or so-called permanent or semi-permanent makeup, is a technique that consists of injecting bioresorbable mineral pigments into the dermis of the lips using a very fine needle. Long associated with too conspicuous coloring, semi-permanent makeup techniques have improved and today tend towards much more natural results.

A technique also used for making up the eyebrows and eyes (eyeliner line).

Who is permanent lip makeup for?

It is aimed at women who seek to increase the volume of their lips very slightly when they are too thin or non-existent, to redraw their contours to make them sharper, or simply to color their mouth so as not to have to (re) put on lipstick every day.

How is the session going?

After a discussion with the client to find out what she wants, the beautician makes a first "test" plot to get a first glimpse of the result. Then, she takes the pigment using the needle and makes the final line with back and forth movements. For a first session, some beauticians prefer to have a light hand and not to stray too far from the natural color of the lips, even if it means doing an "ironing" and accentuating the color one month later.

How long will the makeup last?

As a rule, derma pigmentation disappears completely after one or two years. It all depends on the skin and the color chosen: the brighter it is, the longer it will last.

Can we erase it if the result is not satisfactory?

Yes, but you have to use a laser, a very expensive and painful technique. It is, therefore, necessary to think carefully before starting.

Is it painful? What are the possible side effects and contraindications?

We are not going to lie to each other: it is not pleasant and we usually feel a few tingling sensations, but it is still bearable. If you are really "cozy", it is always possible to apply an anesthetic ointment. The only side effect that can occur is a slight swelling of the lips, only the same day. The important thing is above all to ensure that the beautician uses a quality pigment. We, therefore, do not hesitate to ask to see the container in which it is located and which must bear the mention "sterile".

Side contraindications, derma pigmentation is not recommended in cases of herpes. If you really want to try it, you have to take treatment three days before the session.
